Common name for the area around JR Harajuku Station in the eastern part of Shibuya Ward, Tokyo. Old town name. There used to be a post station on the Kamakura Kaido to go from Sagami Province to Oshu. Today, it is famous as a high-class residential area and a source of youth fashion.
