Republic of Ireland. Located on the island of Ireland west of the British Isles. While its constitution claims the entire island as its territory, in practice it encompasses only the areas outside Northern Ireland, which remains part of the United Kingdom.

About Ireland

Most of the land consists of hilly plains dotted with lakes and fjords. It has a western maritime climate, characterized by year-round humidity, cool summers, and mild winters.

Industry

In 1997, the cattle population reached 7.1 million head, nearly double the human population. It is also a dairy nation with 3 million sheep and 1 million pigs. Looking at employment by industry, agriculture and forestry account for 12%, mining and manufacturing 28%, and services 60%—a significantly higher agricultural ratio than other countries.
Foreign-owned companies support 55% of Ireland’s total manufacturing output, 44% of manufacturing employment, and 70% of manufacturing exports, primarily in electronics and engineering.

Ireland’s Appeal

Ireland is known as the “Emerald Isle,” a lush and beautiful island nation. Its rich natural landscapes and scenery are captivating, serving as filming locations and inspiration for movies.
It is renowned as the home of whiskey. Pubs are found throughout the cities, bustling as places where people gather to relax. Live music is often heard on city streets and in pubs.
Ireland is also one of the world’s leading rugby powers. The “Ireland national team” is the only team in the Rugby World Cup that spans two countries: Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
