Constitutional monarchy in Southeast Asia. It is a federal system consisting of the mainland of Malaysia in the southern part of the Malay Peninsula and the states of Sabah and Sarawak on the northern coast of Borneo.
It has a hot and humid tropical climate with few distinct seasons. Approximately 80% of the population lives in Peninsular Malaysia, more than half of which are Malays. There are many ethnic Chinese on the west coast of the peninsula, and in Borneo, the Dayak people make up the majority. About 20% of the working population is engaged in the primary industry, and the production value of natural rubber and tin is one of the world’s leading. It is also rich in tea, rice, copra, palm oil, pepper, and forest resources such as teak.
