Built in Sumida Ward, this 634-meter-tall free-standing broadcast tower opened as part of “Tokyo Skytree Town,” which includes the commercial complex “Tokyo Solamachi.”
Originally scheduled for completion in December 2011, construction was delayed by about two months due to the Great East Japan Earthquake, and the tower was completed in February 2012.
