Description for Republic of Indonesia
Indonesia is a multi-religious nation
Muslims constitute about 85% of the population, followed by Christians, Hindus, and Buddhists. While freedom of religious belief is recognized, being non-religious is generally not accepted.
Indonesians are generally gentle, cheerful, and upbeat.
Indonesians have a slow-paced nature. They don’t rush in traffic jams, don’t rush in long store lines, and don’t panic over missed deadlines. Some might even chat away while neglecting work. They are often described as having a positive “it’ll work out” attitude, being easygoing, bright, and good-natured.
Explanation of this calligraphy
The top row is hiragana, the middle row is kanji, and the bottom row is katakana, all written horizontally. The first two characters in the kanji representation are the same as those for India in South Asia. From the third character to the last, the kanji used are phonetic substitutes for “nesia,” meaning “islands.”
